| Role / Duties: | 1. Work under the direction of the Programme Manager – RWP Children’s Workforce and in collaboration with the School teaching staff to support pupils in their individual learning and development environments. 2. Help pupils to develop their literacy, numeracy and personal skills thus improving their attainment across the curriculum. 3. Assist pupils in carrying out schemes of work and programmes set by teaching staff. 4. Be an effective model for pupil behaviour by upholding the standards 5. Contribute to the planning and evaluation of learning activities and assist with the recording of pupils’ progress. 6. Contribute to the maintenance of a safe environment for pupils and staff. 7. Assist in the presentation of display materials and the preparation of learning materials. 8. Support teaching staff or senior colleagues with routine administration. 9. Undertake all training and development required by the apprenticeship framework 10. Comply with all statutory requirements and professional codes of conduct in operation within the school. 11. Undertake additional duties as directed by the relevant line manager commensurate with this role The above list is not intended to be exhaustive and the post holder will be expected to work flexibly and many of the duties will be supported by training |
| Required Skills / Experience: | Education, Training, Qualifications and Experience 1. Minimum educational level – GCSE A* - G in English and Maths or Level 1 equivalent. 2. Experience of taking a leadership role with young people (this may include experience gained in a recreational setting such as through the cadet force, sports teams or a youth club) 3. An interest in the process of learning and how to maximise its benefits Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Good literacy and numeracy skills. 2. Good ICT skills. 3. Ability to relate well to children and adults. 4. Able to work constructively as part of a team 5. Ability to work flexibly in the service of core clients: its students, parents, carers and families. 6. Understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and own position within these. 7. Recognise, confidentiality, child protection procedures, Health and Safety and the policies of the Governing Body. 8. Able to manage your own learning and development. |
| Prospects: | Possibility of moving on to advanced apprenticeship. |
| Training Involved: | On - the - job Training within the school environment and off - the - job training once a fortnight held at RWP training Limited. |
| Days/Hours: | Part Time - 25 Hours - Fixed term for 12 months - Term time only. |
