Role / Duties: This role will include:

  • Develop effective working relationships with the other employees within the home.
  • Evaluate standards of care competence.
  • Promote a positive image for the residency and employment within the home.
  • Ensure that the service users rights are protected.
  • Record relevant activities in the Care Plan.
  • Assist the assessment of the effectiveness of care implementation and delivery.
  • Assisting the residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence.
  • Encouraging residents to remain as independent as possible
  • Helping in the promotion of mental and physical activity of residents through conversation, activities and outings
  • To help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of service users through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations
  • To make and change beds; tidy rooms; do light cleaning and empty commodes
  • To set tables and trays; serve meals; feed service users who need help; prepare light meals and wash up; tidy and clear the dining room
Required Skills / Experience / Personal Qualities:  You will need to be passionate about caring for vulnerable people with the ability to provide the best level of service.
  • Great communication skills
  • A good understanding of literacy and numeracy
  • Basic ability of using a computer
  • Kind, Patient and Caring personality
  • DBS check required
Prospects: To progress within the company & go on to a Level 3 Apprenticeship
Training Involved: Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship (Level 2) - 12-15 month programme of work based learning where you will gain the following qualifications;
  • The Care Certificate
  • City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England (QCF) 
  • Functional Skills Maths Level 1 
  • Functional Skills English Level 1 
At the end of your qualification you will be required to complete a 60 question multiple choice exam and a 45 minute professional discussion.
