Role / Duties: This role will include:
  • Support people with learning disabilities in their own home setting.
  • To follow individual care plans.
  • To actively support each individual to manage their health needs.
  • To facilitate and empower independence by encouraging and promoting participation in all aspects of daily life.
  • To develop an understanding of each person's communication needs and styles.
  • To take responsibility in ensuring that every individual Walsingham support is safeguarded from harm, abuse and unnecessary risk.
  • To carry out all aspects of the role within the guidance of the Walsingham Staff, Dignity & Personalisation charters and the code of conduct for healthcare support workers and adult social care workers.
Required Skills / Experien
Enhanced DBS check will be required.
A current clean driving license is preferred, but candidates will be considered who are willing to learn.
You must be 18+ to apply for this vacancy, due to the nature of the role.
Prospects: To progress within the company & go on to a Level 3 Apprenticeship
Training Involved: Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship (Level 2) - 12-15 month programme of work based learning where you will gain the following qualifications;
  • The Care Certificate
  • City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England (QCF) 
  • Functional Skills Maths Level 1 
  • Functional Skills English Level 1 
At the end of your qualification you will be required to complete a 60 question multiple choice exam and a 45 minute professional discussion.
