Role / Duties:
  • Helping to supervise and plan and manage childrens individual development
  • To assist in the setting out of equipment in an interesting and stimulating way, ensuring equipment being used is kept under control (tided and picked up of floor etc…) to minimalise accidents. 
  •  Assist in the clearing away equipment and encouraging the children to help.
  •  To tell and read stories and sing to with a group of children.
  • To be involved and assist in the supervision of activities (i.e. craft, sand, playdoh, water etc…) ensuring the area is kept under control (sweeping, picking up doh from the floor and mopping spilt water etc…).  To be involved in and assist the supervision of activities both floor and table based (Lego, train track, home corner, reading area and jigsaws etc…).
  • To assist supervision and to be involved with outdoor activities and within the community.
  • To take responsibility for a topic/theme.
  •  To be responsible for a main activity when required.
  •  To contribute to the development of all children by working alongside them and enriching their play by providing additional ideas and materials appropriate.
  •  To work with other team members to create a pleasing and stimulating environment.
  • This would include assisting with:
    a)     Setting up displays and activity corners connected with an ongoing theme or interest. b)   Displaying work in an aesthetically pleasing way and with sensitive regard to the differently developing skills and abilities.
  • To have the ability to work with a small group of children and to give additional attention to their overall development.

Days/Hours: 37.5 hrs per week on a flexible rota
