Role / Duties:
  • This is a very hands-on role, working and playing alongside children every day to help their learning & development. 

  • You will be expected to support the policies & procedures of the setting, for example behaving in a responsible & professional manner at all times; building good relationships with colleagues, parents and children within the setting; helping ensure the health and safety of everyone within the setting; & having a good awareness of Child Protection & Safeguarding procedures and following these whenever appropriate.

  • You will be expected to use your knowledge & understanding of how young children develop & learn to help plan and provide learning experiences for them, to record their personal progress and share this with colleagues and parents.

Required Skills / Experience / Personal Qualities:
  • Maths and English GCSE A*-D or 9-4
  • It is essential that you are reliable so that we can continue to provide a consistent service to parents.
  • This position requires very good inter-personal skills – you must be friendly, cheerful and professional at all times, and able to communicate clearly and easily with both children and adults.
  • You have to be able to use your initiative, for example noticing what is currently engaging a child’s interest and developing activities and experiences around this.
  • You have to have a good sense of fun, and not take yourself too seriously as the children have you doing all sorts of crazy things!

Training Involved: Apprenticeship – 12 month programme of work based learning where you will gain the following qualifications:
  • Level 2 certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce

Days/Hours:Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
Other Information: The successful candidate will be required to undertake a DBS check.
