Role / Duties:

The Business Administration Apprentice will work with the central Trust staff team to help deliver efficient financial and administration support across the Trust. They will be involved in supporting all areas of the central Trust’s operating functions including supporting the Board of Directors and delivering a Finance, HR, and Payroll service to our family of schools.

1.         To actively promote the values and ethos of the Trust

2.         To take responsibility for meeting and greeting visitors to the office

3.         To support the team with co-ordinating internal and external meetings and events

4.         To respond to and forward if appropriate incoming enquiries by phone and email

5.         To manage all incoming and outgoing post

6.         To input data onto the finance system including purchase orders, goods received notes, invoices, payments, receipts, supplier information etc.

7.         To scan, file and store financial records including invoices, expenses forms, remittance advice notes etc

8.         To be involved in regular liaison with the team to ensure effective communications and the smooth running of the central support function.

9.         To attend meetings as note taker and support the production of papers and agendas for the meetings and minutes afterwards

10.      To operate relevant equipment/ICT packages including a bespoke Finance package

11.      To ensure all records that you work with are stored and archived in a sensible and logical manner, and kept up-to date, providing a suitable audit trail

12.      To assist colleagues whenever necessary in supporting the functions of the Trust

13.      To provide general administration support e.g. photocopying, filing, completion of standard forms etc

14.      To participate in training and other learning activities

15.     To work within, be aware of and support compliance with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health and safety, financial management, confidentiality, personnel management and data protection

Required Skills / Experience/ Personal Qualities:
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English A*-D or 9-4
  • Good interpersonal skills 
  • IT & keyboard skills 
  • Ability to work on own initiative and also as part of a team
  • 2 References will be required and a DBS check
  • Attention to detail
Prospects: To progress onto a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship
Training Involved: Apprenticeship – 12 month programme of work based learning where you will gain the following qualifications:

Days/Hours: Monday to Thursday 9am-5pm and Friday 9am-4.30pm
