Procedure
-
Where an assessment decision has been made for any part of a unit of competence/VRQ module, and the participant does not concur with that decision, a Disputes and Appeals Form (RWP 3303) (PDF, 94kB) should be sent to the Internal Verification Co-ordinator. It is important that details of the NVQ/VRQ, the assessment plan and any supporting evidence is submitted with the form.
-
The Internal Verification Co-ordinator will notify the learner within two days of receipt of the dispute and appeal of action to be taken to address the matter.
-
Following receipt of a completed Disputes and Appeals Form (RWP 3303)(PDF, 94kB) an independent appeals panel made up of the Internal Verification Co-ordinator, Internal Verifier and two assessors will judge the evidence and report on their findings.
-
Within 14 days of receipt the Internal Verification Co-ordinator will advise the participant of the outcome in writing.
-
Where the participant believes the decision to be unsatisfactory, he/she can seek further appeal through the External Verifier, appointed by the Awarding Body. This should be done in writing through the Internal Verification Co-ordinator, who will forward the appeal to the External Verifier within two days of receipt.
-
In some circumstances, the participant may need to meet with the External Verifier.
-
Following a final decision by the External Verifier, the participant will be informed by the Internal Verification Co-ordinator of the outcome in writing.
