Policy Statement
RWP Training Ltd is committed to providing an appropriate level of support to all learners in order to ensure they are directed onto the most appropriate programme to meet their needs and aspirations, are provided with sufficient information and guidance to get the most value from the programme and given every encouragement to complete their qualification / framework.

Implementation
The policy is implemented through the Centre Manager whose function is to ensure that:- Selection and Recruitment
We will work closely with local schools, careers service, local employers, education and business partnership and other agencies to ensure our selection and recruitment practice is fair, free from bias and meets local social and economic needs. - Permanent Employment
We will work with local employers to identify suitable vacancies which will provide permanent paid employment for all our learners and appropriate opportunities to complete their qualification framework. - Workplace Mentors
We will ensure each learner has a named workplace mentor who is occupationally competent, qualified, committed to the training programme and able to provide suitable on-the-job training to the learner while in the workplace. We will provide the mentor with sufficient information and guidance on the work-based learning programme in order for them to fulfil their role. - Initial Assessment
We will gather information on each learners career goals, their suitability, their qualifications and past achievements, their basic and key skill needs their personal effectiveness and personal circumstances which may effect their learning. - Accreditation of Prior Learning
We will identify individual learners past achievements and qualifications and where appropriate, notify them where such achievements can be used as credit for their chosen qualification framework. - Individual Learning Plan
We will produce an individual learning plan for each learner which clearly details all the qualification outcomes, on- and off-the-job training requirements and any additional learning support needs. A copy of this plan will be issued to the learner and both copies will be regularly updated throughout the programme. - Induction
We will deliver a thorough and comprehensive induction to each learner within six week of commencement on the training programme. We will issue each learner with a learner handbook and will reinforce the key learning points at regular intervals throughout the programme. - Additional Learning Support
We will provide additional learning support where required and when necessary, involve outside support agencies to address areas outside of our capacity. - Pastoral Support and Guidance
We will provide all learners with a comprehensive list of support services contained within their learner handbook and will maintain up to date resources on support facilities available to learners. We will provide suitable one-to-one support, counselling and guidance to learners to ensure they overcome personal problems which affect their training, benefit from their training programme, remain in employment and complete their qualification framework. - Target Setting
We will negotiate and set realistic short and long term targets with learners and their mentors. We will document these targets, provide each learner with sufficient information and encouragement to meet these targets, regularly review targets and take appropriate action when learners consistently fail to meet the targets. - Progress Reviews
We will meet with learners every three - four weeks in order to monitor and review progress and will conduct formal progress reviews with learners and their mentors every 10 - 12 weeks throughout their programme. - Ongoing Assessment
We will ensure units are planned on an ongoing basis and that learners are informed both verbally and in writing of their ongoing achievement. - Key Skills
We will maintain high standards of skill and professionalism in the delivery of key skills. We will ensure key skills are introduced to the learner early in the programme and suitable opportunities for evidencing key skills are identified during the assessment of the main NVQ. We will encourage all learners to successfully complete the external key skill tests during the first half of their training programme. - Unit Certification
We will ensure that all learners are certificated for units completed to the satisfaction of the awarding body at the point they exit training irrespective as to whether or not the learner completes their qualification framework. - Celebration of Achievement
We will frame all apprenticeship certificates and organise a formal presentation of awards every six months to celebrate achievement and recognise the hard work and effort all learners have put into their programme. - Local and National Awards
We will consider suitable learners for local and national awards and will provide the necessary support and assistance to selected learners to enable them to participate in such awards. - Recognising Diversity and Fair Treatment
We will ensure all staff, learners and subcontractors recognise the diversity of our society, understand differing cultural values and treat all individuals with respect.

This policy will be reviewed annually by the Centre Manager.
