RWP Training Limited is committed to accurately identifying what each learner needs to learn and be aware of any support requirements that they may have prior to commencement of the learning programme. We are also committed to developing an effective individual learning plan that reflects each learner's specific needs, enables the learner to achieve their qualification and ensures that each learner gets the most out of their learning programme.

The initial assessment process gathers information on each learner's career goals and aspirations, their suitability, their qualifications and achievements, aptitude and potential, prior learning and experience, basic skill and key skills learning needs, any learning difficulties, interests, learning style, job role, personal effectiveness and personal circumstances which may effect learning. When identifying what learners needs to learn we consider:
The learners attitude and commitment to the learning programme
The learners career goals and aspirations
The learners relevant abilities, interests and skills
The most appropriate learning programme for the learner to follow
What the learner has previously learnt and achieved

Implementation
When conducting initial assessment, RWP staff will ensure that:
Learners are fully involved in the initial assessment process
Learners understand the benefits of what they are being asked to do and how the information will be used.
Initial assessment methods are appropriate to the learners needs
The purpose of each method is explained to the learner
Assessment methods are monitored to ensure that that they are effective and that they do not discriminate against certain groups of learners
Outcomes of initial assessment are recorded on an individual summary record and used when developing the individual learning plan
Recommendations on how learning requirements will be met are agreed
Constructive feedback is given in a positive and encouraging way
Learners views are collected on the initial assessment process
